Flight Search - Weather in Alberta
I have lived in Alberta most on my 50 years of life. I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada.
The less I like it, and the older I get, the weather here is unpredictable at best.
But they are too short! The summers are great, don't get me wrong.
I guess that makes up for having less than 8 hours of daylight in December! And it rises at about 3:00am, the sun does not set until 10 or 11 o'clock, july and August, during June. Is the long evenings, though, the best thing. July and August, then it can get extremely hot in June. And the actual true warm weather starts near the end of May, the snow usually lasts until March.
Such a short span of daylight can get on a person's nerves. The winters are the most difficult for me.
And maneuvering icy streets and blizzard conditions, the problem is that I must go out each day and deal with starting my car and letting it run to warm up. Makes me just want to stay in the house until spring, an the temperature falling and staying below -30 degrees Celsius for weeks at time.
Is it any wonder that Canadians love to travel to warm destinations in the winter?
I do not have to shovel my sidewalks, where winter is but a few fleeting months and the flowers are blooming in February, the winters in Alberta are what have inspired me to make it my goal to retire on Vancouver Island!
